Vincero Productions has optioned the series for potential filming with a screenplay being written by Alan Dean Foster. The only sketchy parts for this one were two places where the humor bits were predictable. The picaresque hike-with-adventure plot provided a good glimpse of the I received this book as a gift, having not read spelllsinger rest of the Spellsinger series.
This can lead to an interesting story, particularly since I like the concept of the evil outsider coming to Earth and bringing ideas that are foreign to the Earthlings, and playing on their ignorance. I think we all know that wise turtles have a unique sense of humor and the concept of a suitable hero.

Trivia About The Time of the T For a hundred bucks a week in my pocket. I have read most of Alan Dean Foster’s works. It is Mudge who convinces Jon-Tom that he is not dreaming by stabbing him with a sword. It all works out for the best, though, as Jon-Tom soon discovers that in the magical world he has the power of a spellsinger; a wizard who can make powerful magic through music. Jon-Tom’s casual abandonment of Talea, after a lengthy series of adventures in which he seldom thought of her, was infuriating.
I overall enjoyed the story and whilst it is definitely not worth reading all the books just for this one as it might be for, say, the later Harry Potter books it’s a nice joy to have it appear in the middle of the series as a reward for suffering? The magic itself is nearly marginal – not complex, interesting, or well thought out these days magic systems that impose no cost on the caster make no sense to me.
While Tolkein is a story of a quest, it is not so wpellsinger a coming of age story but rather of how a little person is capable of great feats. There was very little in this book regarding Jon-Tom’s desire to return to the world of his birth and, as a result, I found the ending didn’t fit the rest of the story.
I’m sure I liked it much more then than I would now.
